Why Should You Choose the Same Location for Both Your Ceremony & Reception?

It is quite time consuming to plan a wedding! There so many things to do, plan, schedule, and organize. It doesn’t matter how far in advance that you plan your wedding, there just never seems to be enough time. One way to relieve some of this pressure is to hold both your wedding ceremony and reception at the same venue. There are many benefits to choosing to do this; here are a few of them. 

Convenience

When you think of your wedding day, ‘convenience’ is not typically a word you’d like to associate with the biggest day of your life. But hear us out. Choosing to have both your ceremony and reception at the same venue means one less thing to add to your never-ending ‘To-Do’ list – having to find two venues; you’ll only have one venue to coordinate with; and guests from out-of-town, or those who have driven themselves, won’t have to worry about finding somewhere to park at multiple locations. 

Cost-Effective

Choosing to have both your ceremony and reception at the same venue can save you money. Most venues offer package deals for having both your ceremony and reception with them. Additionally, you only have to pay to decorate one hall, cater for one group of people, and  it reduces travel costs for yourselves and your guests. Weddings are EXPENSIVE, arguably one of the biggest purchases of your life. Save money wherever you can. 

Increased Attendance

Not everyone invited to your wedding will be able to attend both the ceremony and reception, particularly if they are held in separate locations. Increased travel costs may mean some will need to choose to attend one or the other. 

Vibes

Having your guests move from one location to another can sometimes dampen their mood. They’re happy watching your ceremony, feeling joyous over witnessing the matrimonial union, but that high can start to fade when they have to battle traffic to get the next location. Keep the vibes going by using the same venue.  

In instances where venue staff need to turn the room around between your ceremony and reception, supply canapés and welcome drinks outside (if the weather permits) or an area away from the main hall (if it does not) to keep the excitement building.
